Basis of Design

For larger jobs, GLD always creates a schematic design before committing to the finished design. The Basis of Design (BOD) scopes all of the equipment and investigates the logistics of the design. This is a vetting process. If any part of the job will be cost prohibitive or will threaten mission critical equipment, the client will know. In this way they can again be sure that the job can be completed before additional funds are spent on detailed design.

The following are the deliverables for the BOD:

• Preliminary floorplan drawings
• Preliminary schematic diagrams
• Preliminary single line electrical diagrams
• Preliminary construction budget estimates
• BOD presentation
